The renowned monastery of Saint Vissarion lies on the east slope of a narrow mountain, 650 m high at a scenic location;
25 km outside of Trikala, near Pyli town and on top of Agios Vissarion village. The view it offers to Pierian Mountains and to Mount Olympus is unique.
The monastery was built between 13th and 14th century. With 1.524 cells, it was devoted to Jesus. The visitor will be able to admire frescoes by the famous religious painter Georgis.
